Having paranoid schizophrenia, I find I am vulnerable to an almost panic reaction whenever someone makes any kind of comment about "the end of the world."
Last year, there was that guy saying "The Rapture" was coming. It didn't come. This year there's that stupid Mayan thing.
Let's just say that evil people are trying to scare us. The world is not going to end. Global warming is not real. We are not living in the "End Times."
I say do your research when you can. I've found the "Mayan" thing is wrong on many, many levels. Really an outright fabrication.
There's an interesting site out there listing all the failed end of the world predictions.
If I were to trust my hunch on who these doomsayers really are, I'd say they are speed freaks (amphetamine addicts).
